Before you start

In the box: Strand 10 frame, detachable stand, power adapter and user manual.

You'll need:

  • A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Strand 10 doesn't connect to 5 GHz networks.
  • An iPhone or Android phone with the free Frameo app (App Store or Google Play) for anyone who wants to send photos.

Attach the stand for landscape or portrait, or hang the frame on the wall using the keyhole on the back.

Set up your frame

  1. Plug in the power adapter and turn the frame on.
  2. Choose your language.
  3. Connect to your Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz).
  4. Check the date and time. The frame sets these itself once it's online.
  5. If the frame asks to update, we recommend updating before you continue.
  6. Enter your name and where the frame is, for example "Living room" or "Kitchen". Then set the time zone if it isn't already correct.

Connect your phone and family

  1. Everyone who wants to send photos downloads the free Frameo app.
  2. On the frame, tap the screen to open the quick menu, then tap Add friend. A connection code appears. It's valid for 12 hours.
  3. Share the code by text, email or phone. Each person enters it in their Frameo app.
  4. Once they've entered the code, they appear on the frame and can start sending photos and videos.

Each person gets their own code. To let family members share the code themselves, go to Settings > My friends, tap the settings icon next to their name and turn on Share code.

Using your frame

  • Browse: swipe left or right to go through your photos.
  • Quick menu: tap the screen once for Wi-Fi, albums, power, calendar, your photos, Add friend and Settings.
  • React: double-tap a photo (or use the React menu) to send a heart, so the sender knows it arrived.
  • Videos: tap play or pause, and use the speaker icon to change the volume.
  • Adjust a photo: choose Fill frame to fill the screen or Fit to frame to show the whole photo. You can also rotate it.
  • Hide or delete: hidden photos stay on the frame but leave the slideshow. You can show them again from My photos.
  • Turning it off: always use the power button or the Power menu. Never unplug the frame while it's running.

Memory cards and computers

From a memory card: when you insert a card, a menu appears with three choices: play photos straight from the card, import them into the frame's memory, or back up your frame. Frameo recommends a FAT32-formatted microSD card of 32GB or smaller.

From a computer: go to Settings > Manage photos > Transfer from computer, turn it on, connect a USB cable and follow the steps on screen. Frameo's help article frameo.com/usb_faq has more detail.

Back up your frame

  • To a memory card: go to Settings > Backup and Restore > Backup frame to external storage. This saves your photos, friends and settings, and replaces any older backup on the card.
  • Automatic backup: turn it on, and the frame backs itself up within 30 hours of new photos or changes.
  • Cloud backup: available with Frameo+, an optional paid subscription.
