Add your photos and videos
- Prepare the card. Insert your MicroSD card into the MemoryPearl's card slot, following the direction shown next to the slot.
- Connect. Plug the small end of the included USB-C cable into your MemoryPearl and the other end into your Windows or Mac computer.
- Transfer. Open "This PC" (Windows) or "Finder" (Mac) and find the new external USB drive. Copy and paste your videos, music and photos onto it.
- Wait. Your MemoryPearl needs time to read your memories. This usually takes 30 seconds to 1 minute. Larger files take longer.
You can change what's on your MemoryPearl at any time. Plug it back into your computer and add or delete files the same way.
Charging and power
MemoryPearl runs on its rechargeable battery or while plugged in. To charge it, connect the USB-C cable to a USB power source rated 5V 1A, such as a phone charger or a computer's USB port.
If you won't be using your MemoryPearl for a long time, turn it off (hold the Power button) and disconnect the power.
Display it or hang it
Rest MemoryPearl on its display base on a shelf, desk or nightstand. For the holidays, attach the included lanyard and hang it on the tree, or take it with you. Keep it in the storage pouch when you're traveling.
Troubleshooting
A video won't play, or it lags
Some videos need converting before they play smoothly. Follow our step-by-step guide: Videos won't play or lag.
My computer doesn't show the MemoryPearl
Check that the MicroSD card is fully inserted, then unplug the cable and plug it back in. Try a different USB port, and make sure you're using the included USB-C cable, since some cables only charge and can't transfer files.
New files don't show up right away
MemoryPearl needs 30 seconds to 1 minute to read new files after you disconnect it, and longer for large videos. Give it a moment before trying again.
It won't turn on
The battery may be empty. Connect it to a 5V 1A USB power source for a while, then press and hold the Power button.
No sound
Press the Plus (+) button quickly a few times to turn the volume up.
Care and safety
- Power down: disconnect the power if the device won't be used for a long time.
- Check voltage: before plugging it in, make sure your power source matches the device's requirements (5V 1A).
- Stay cool: it's normal for the power supply to get warm during use. Keep the area well ventilated.
